L'indicatore fornisce informazioni sui principali eventi franosi che hanno causato vittime, feriti, evacuati e danni a edifici, beni culturali, infrastrutture lineari di comunicazione primarie e infrastrutture/reti di servizi sul territorio nazionale nell’ultimo anno. I principali eventi di frana, verificatisi nel 2023, sono stati 192 e hanno causato 11 morti, 24 feriti e danni prevalentemente alla rete stradale e a edifici.

Il monitoraggio degli interventi di mitigazione del rischio idrogeologico finanziati dal 1999 al 31.12.2023 da diverse Amministrazioni dello Stato sul nostro territorio nazionale viene svolto da ISPRA attraverso la piattaforma ReNDiS (Repertorio Nazionale degli interventi per la Difesa del Suolo), in cui sono censiti complessivamente 25.539 interventi, per un importo totale di 19.207 Mln €. Di questi, il numero degli interventi di competenza del Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica (MASE) risulta essere poco più del 26% (6.750) del totale, cui corrisponde il relativo finanziamento che è pari a circa il 41% (7.819 Mln €) rispetto alle risorse complessivamente stanziate dalle altre Amministrazioni pubbliche finanziatrici degli interventi censiti in ReNDiS, ovvero, Ministero dell’Interno, Dipartimento Protezione Civile e Dipartimento Casa Italia della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, Ministero dell’Agricoltura, della Sovranità Alimentare e delle Foreste (MASAF) e Regione Calabria. In particolare, gli interventi di competenza del Ministero dell’Interno, del Dipartimento Protezione Civile, del Dipartimento Casa Italia, del MASAF e della Regione Calabria, rappresentano in numero oltre il 73,5% (18.789) del totale, cui corrisponde un finanziamento di oltre il 59% (19.207 Mln €). In riferimento allo stato di attuazione del complesso degli interventi finanziati, 8.813, pari a circa il 34%, risultano conclusi, il 12% (2.951 interventi) è in fase di esecuzione, il 19% (4.836 interventi) è in fase di progettazione, mentre quasi il 34% (8.703 interventi) sono ancora da avviare o senza dati comunicati. L’indicatore fornisce, inoltre, dati sulla distribuzione regionale degli interventi e sulla loro suddivisione in funzione della tipologia di dissesto. Infine, vengono presentati i dati sulle richieste di finanziamento presentate dalle Regioni/Province Autonome al MASE e al Dipartimento Casa Italia per la realizzazione di nuovi interventi di mitigazione del rischio idrogeologico, costituite complessivamente da 1.542 richieste, per un importo totale dei progetti presentati pari a circa 4.440 Mln €.

L’indicatore fornisce informazioni sul numero e sulla distribuzione delle frane in Italia. Le frane censite sono oltre 635.000 (periodo di riferimento 1116-2024) e interessano un’area di 25.004 km², pari all’8,3% del territorio nazionale.

The indicator provides information about the landslide number and distribution in Italy. The recorded landslides exceed 635,000 (reference period 1116-2024) and affect an area of 25,004 km², accounting for 8.3% of the national territory.

The indicator provides information about the major landslide events caused fatalities, injuries, evacuations, damage to buildings, cultural heritage, and primary linear communication infrastructure or service networks in the national territory in the past year. The major landslide events occurred in 2023 were 192, with 11 deaths, 24 injuries, and damage mainly to the road network and buildings.

The monitoring of hydrogeological risk mitigation projects funded from 1999 to December 31, 2023, by various administrations across the national territory is carried out by ISPRA through the ReNDiS platform (the Italian Repository of Hydogeological Mitigation measures). A total of 25,539 projects are recorded in ReNDiS, with a total funding amount of €19,207 million. Of these, the projects under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) account for just over 26% (6,750) of the total, corresponding to approximately 41% (€7,819 million) of the total resources allocated by the other public funding administrations listed in ReNDiS. These include the Ministry of the Interior, the Civil Protection Department, the Casa Italia Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests (MASAF) and the Calabria Region.

Specifically, projects under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Interior, the Civil Protection Department, the Casa Italia Department, MASAF and the Calabria Region represent over 73.5% (18,789) of the total number of projects, with funding exceeding 59% (€19,207 million).

Regarding the implementation status of all funded projects, 8,813 (approximately 34%) have been completed, 12% (2,951 projects) are under execution, 19% (4,836 projects) are in the design phase, while nearly 34% (8,703 projects) have yet to be started or have no reported data. The indicator also provides data on the regional distribution of projects and their classification based on the type of hydrogeological failure. Additionally, it presents data on funding requests submitted by Regions/Autonomous Provinces to MASE and the Casa Italia Department for the implementation of new hydrogeological risk mitigation projects, totaling 1,542 requests for a total project funding amount of approximately €4,440 million.
